Unlike other traditional high speed modems available currently, the DataView modem provides for two-way data transmission over a single RF (Radio Frequency) channel.  Traditionally, the provision of two way transmission capability with a cable modem was prohibited pursuant to the space requirements within the coaxial cable required to facilitate the return, or back haul, of data.  The DataView modem eliminates this space requirement by providing for the back haul of data on the same channel that original data is delivered to the consumer.  In short, the DataView modem’s technology allows for the partition of a single channel to facilitate data submission and retrieval.  DataView will be offered as an add-on to the PowerView™ and Comgate™ products.
